Professor Dr. Abdul Jalil Khan is the first-ever Professor of Family Medicine in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a leading figure in strengthening primary healthcare systems in Pakistan. With extensive NHS UK experience, he is a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners, Faculty of Public Health, and Higher Education Academy. He has served as a PLAB Examiner with the GMC UK and a Specialist Advisor with the Care Quality Commission.

At Khyber Medical University, he leads the Institute of Family Medicine, supervises FCPS/MCPS trainees at CPSP, and directs national-level initiatives to integrate comprehensive primary care with robust referral pathways to secondary and tertiary care.

A medical educationist and curriculum developer, he has designed multiple postgraduate and undergraduate programmes, including Family Medicine, Healthcare Quality, Diabetes Management, IPC, and Mental Health.

His key areas of clinical and research interests include NCDs, Chronic Disease Management, Primary Care, Health System Strengthening, Mental Health Integration, Medical Education, and Healthcare Quality & Healthcare Leadership.
