Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) organized a two-day workshop for affiliated institutions of KMU in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission. An expert team of the Higher Education Commission consisting of Dr. Bashir Khan, Mr. Wajid Khan, and Mr. Abdul Aziz acted as facilitators of the workshop.
The Director QEC-KMU Dr. Syeda Asia Bukhari delivered the opening remarks of the workshop whereas KMU Acting vice-chancellor Prof. Dr. Rubina Nazli, Registrar Inamullah Wazir, and Deputy Director of Affiliation, Inspection and Monitoring Muhammad Tayyab also expressed their views. Around a hundred representatives of affiliated institutes participated in the workshop.
Dr. Syeda Asia Bukhari, explaining the aims and objectives of the workshop, said that this workshop will help in increasing the quality capacity of affiliated institutions of KMU. Dr. Bashir Khan (Deputy Director HEC) highlighted the importance of relevant institutions and informed the skills of participants about data entry, enrollment, selectively, and faculty in specific fields. He also explained how higher education statistics matter.
The speakers discussed the usefulness of various tools for statistical data collection. They discussed how to log into HEC websites, statistical methods of uploading data, and self-assessment procedures by participants and QEC directors. Detailed training was given to the participants regarding complete data submission. A productive question and answer session was also held during the workshop which was highly appreciated by the participants.
