MPhil Oral Pathology
Program Overview
The MPhil Oral Pathology program is designed to provide advanced training in the diagnosis and understanding of diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial region. The program integrates theoretical knowledge, practical laboratory training, and supervised research to develop competent oral pathologists capable of supporting clinical services, academic teaching, and applied research.
Vision
To produce skilled oral pathologists with strong diagnostic competence and foundational research expertise who contribute effectively to clinical diagnostics, dental education, and National oral healthcare systems.
Mission
The MPhil Oral Pathology program aims to deliver structured postgraduate education in oral and maxillofacial pathology and prepare graduates for academic roles and progression to doctoral studies in accordance with national and International standards.
Program Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the MPhil Oral Pathology program will be able to:
- Diagnose common and complex oral and maxillofacial lesions using histopathological principles
- Correlate clinical, radiological, and microscopic findings for accurate diagnosis
- Apply basic research methods and critically appraise scientific literature
- Demonstrate professional ethics and lifelong learning skills
